Who should pay Fitrana?
It is due from Muslims who have sufficient provision beyond essential needs. The precise threshold differs by school: the Hanafi school generally applies a nisab threshold beyond basic needs and immediate debts, while other Sunni schools commonly look to having surplus provision for Eid day and night.

How much is Fitrana?
The classical amount is one sāʿ of staple food for each person. Because a sāʿ is a volume measure and foods have different densities, modern weight estimates vary.

When should it be paid?
