Your trust is sacred to us.
A clear explanation of what SalahOne collects, why we need it, and how we protect your prayer times, Qibla direction and personal data.
Quick summary
No ads. No trackers. No sale of personal data. Prayer and Qibla calculations happen on your device. You are in control.
Contact usPrivacy-first by design
SalahOne is built as a tool for worship, not a data-collection service. We believe that your spiritual habits — when you pray, where you are, how you read Quran — are deeply personal. We keep as little information as possible, store it securely, and never sell or share it with third parties for advertising or profiling.
Who is responsible for your data
SalahOne is operated by IX Futuris Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16554484), with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. IX Futuris Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through the SalahOne app and website. You can reach us at any time at hello@salahone.com for privacy questions, data requests or complaints.
Legal bases for processing (UK & EU)
Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on the following lawful bases: your consent (for optional analytics, marketing emails, and location where required); performance of a contract (to provide account features you request); our legitimate interests (to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and improve SalahOne in a privacy-respecting way); and legal obligation (to comply with applicable laws). You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
What data we collect
Most features work without an account. When you do share information with us, it is limited to what is strictly necessary: your city or coordinates for prayer times and Qibla direction, optional app preferences (calculation method, notifications, theme), and — only if you contact us or join the waitlist — your email address. We do not require your name, phone number, contacts, or precise home address.
Location and coordinates
Prayer times and Qibla direction require a location. On mobile, you may grant approximate location permission; on web, you can type a city name or allow browser geolocation. Coordinates are processed on your device whenever possible. If sent to our servers, they are used only to calculate results for that request and are not stored or linked to an identity.
Prayer times calculation
SalahOne calculates prayer times locally using established astronomical algorithms and your selected method (e.g., Muslim World League, ISNA, Egypt, Karachi, Umm al-Qura). No prayer-history log is created by default. If you enable a prayer-tracking feature in the future, that history stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to back it up.
Qibla compass usage
The Qibla feature uses your device's magnetometer and gyroscope to point toward the Kaaba. Sensor data is processed in real time and is never uploaded. The compass may require calibration; this is a local device operation with no network connection.
How data is stored
App preferences are stored on your device. If you create an account, your settings may be synced through encrypted cloud storage so they are available across devices. We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Our infrastructure providers are bound by strict data-processing agreements.
International data transfers
SalahOne is used by Muslims worldwide, and some of our infrastructure providers operate outside the UK and EEA. When personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or transfers to countries recognised as offering an adequate level of protection. A copy of the safeguards can be requested at hello@salahone.com.
Security measures
We use HTTPS everywhere, hashed credentials, and least-privilege access for our team. We do not store passwords in plain text. While no service can guarantee absolute security, we follow modern best practices and review our systems regularly to protect your information.
Retention and deletion
You can request deletion of your account and any associated data at any time by emailing hello@salahone.com. We will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are legally required to keep it (for example, for accounting or fraud-prevention purposes). Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics may be retained after account deletion because they cannot identify you.
Children's privacy
SalahOne is a family-friendly companion suitable for Muslims of all ages, but our services are not directed at children under the age of digital consent in their country (typically 13–16). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact hello@salahone.com and we will delete it.
Complaints & supervisory authority
If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, please contact us first at hello@salahone.com — we take every concern seriously. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. In the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO, ico.org.uk). In the EEA, you can contact the supervisory authority in your country of residence.
Cookies & analytics
Your tracking choices, made simple
SalahOne uses the bare minimum of cookies. We separate what is required to run the site from what is optional, and you can change your mind at any time.
Essential — always on
A small local-storage entry remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again. Additional essential cookies keep you signed in (if you create an account) and store UI preferences such as language and theme. These cannot be disabled because the site would not function without them. They contain no tracking identifiers.
Optional — anonymous analytics
If you opt in, we collect aggregated, non-identifying statistics — page views, which features are used most, general country-level location — to improve SalahOne. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not build user profiles, we do not share data with third-party ad networks, and we honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track signals.
Your rights
You are in control of your data
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, simply email us at help@salahone.com.
